Virtual Eco-Conference
On Wednesday the 25th of September, Fox and Owl classes joined over 50 other primary schools for a virtual eco-conference. We learnt about how to look after our environment and the other creatures that we share our planet with.
Firstly, we matched ways to solve our environmental issues to the solutions, then after that, we looked at ways to protect people’s crops from elephants who eat those crops, without actually harming the elephants.
Finally, we followed a man called Rob who collects plastic from beaches and turns them into sculptures to raise awareness about what we are discarding onto our beaches and into the sea, causing harm to the earth we live on.
Here are some pictures of the elephant defence systems we made to protect the maize that farmers have grown. They are not harmful to elephants and allow humans and nature to live together.
