School Council
At Cheriton Primary we believe that the children should have a say in how many aspects of the school are planned and organised. The School Council is one of the ways in which 'Pupil Voice' is listened to. Two representatives for each year group are voted for by their classmates to attend School Council meetings. They gather the views, opinions and ideas from their class and share these at the regular School Council meetings. The agenda for these meetings can be driven by the School Improvement Plan, issues raised by the children or in response to events in school or the wider world.
It is hoped that through this type of activity, children will learn about such things as the democratic process, that their opinions matter and that they can have an influence on the world in which they live.
